MFR
-13
The MFR 1 Series is a family
of industrial grade protective
relays that offer multiple protective
features in a single package.
Using digital processing to
measure true RMS values enables
the control to have a high measuring
accuracy that is insensitive
to harmonics, transients or
disturbing pulses.
The MFR 13 model is a complete
generator protection unit packaged
into one compact device. Typical
applications are generators
and switchgear equipment that
require independent protection
architecture. Different packages
offer additional functionality.
The MFR 13/GP is for generator
protection use while the MFR
13/GPX adds synch-check functionality
for one breaker. A MOD bus RTU
Slave interface for communication
is added for the MFR 13/GPX-I
package. The compact size and
multiple functions of the MFR
13 help to simplify switchgear
design. The digital display
offers a user friendly interface
to set-up the unit as well as
monitor the operation and display
any of the alarms.
MFR 13 has
following features
- Over/under Voltage
- Over/under Frequency
- Overload
- Load imbalance
- Reactive Power
- Loss of excitation
- Time-Over current
- Ground fault
MFR 13 GPX same as above plus
- 8 configurable relays
- Synch-check functions instead
of Ground fault
MFR 13 GPX-I same as above
plus
- MODBUS/PROFIBUS Communications

MFR
- 2
Based on micro-controller technology,
Woodward's MFR 2 Multi Function
Relay incorporates functions
and features for multiple applications
(e.g. gensets, hydropower, etc.)
in isolated or parallel utility
operation. The MFR 2 is designed
for generators and switchgear
equipment that require independent
protection.
The ability for the MFR 2 to
quickly decouple from the mains
when working in parallel with
the mains gives complete generator
protection for frequency, voltage,
and real and re-active power
control allowing load/var sharing
between as many as eight units.
MFR2 PSV has following features
Protection for Mains
- Over/under Voltage
- Over/under Frequency
- Voltage asymmetry
- Phase/Vector shift
For Generator
- Over/under Voltage
- Over/under Frequency
- Overload
- Reverse power
- Load imbalance
- Reactive Power
- Loss of excitation
- Time-Over current
Control functions
- Auto Synchronizing
- Auto KW/kVAr sharing
- LED Synchroscope
- CAN Bus Communications
